Frequently Asked Questions

What is a GSA Schedule?

Also known as a Multiple Award Schedule (MAS), a GSA Schedule is a procurement vehicle available to government agencies. The GSA negotiates fair and reasonable pricing with prequalified contractors for a variety of services. The GSA Schedule consists of the listing of those contractors that can be used by all federal agencies.

How can I benefit from contracting with a GSA-approved vendor?

The following are just some of the advantages of using a GSA Schedule:

  • Volume and quantity purchase discounts are negotiated in advance by GSA
  • Blanket purchase agreements can be established to offer even more flexible discounts
  • All synopsis requirements are satisfied via a GSA-issued synopsis
  • Competition requirements are met when the required three contractors are contacted
  • Schedule orders can be applied towards small business goals

Does my organization qualify to use this program?

GSA Schedules can generally be utilized by all federal agencies and activities in the executive, legislative, and judicial branches; government contractors; mixed ownership government corporations such as the U.S. Postal Service; and the government of the District of Columbia.

How do I place an order using this schedule?

The process can be initiated by preparing and submitting your request for quote to a minimum of three GSA-prequalified contractors. You can then simply evaluate the responses and select the contractor that offers the best value. Your contracting officer would then issue a contract to the selected contractor with no further involvement by GSA unless assistance is required.
