Dan Baldwin

Creative Director

Dan is a Creative Director with over 25 years of comprehensive expertise in design strategy and execution. He has a track record of leading teams to deliver innovative strategies and solutions by fusing design and technology to solve complex business challenges. He has collaborated with clients, agencies, educational institutions, and the public.

With 20 years of experience in the academy, Dan previously served as the Director of Purdue University’s Computer Graphics Technology program for over a decade. Prior to joining DJ Case & Associates, Dan was the Creative Director at Oldspeake, a web agency, designing and delivering websites for SaaS companies, marketing agencies, and other brand-led organizations. He specializes in uncovering what makes companies truly unique, and telling their story with design system thinking.

Dan is an accomplished storyteller. His illustration work has been recognized by The Society of Illustrators New York, The Society of Illustrators Los Angeles, and American Illustration, and his animation work has won multiple international awards. Dan has delivered presentations on illustration, animation preproduction, and the incorporation of design principles with storytelling to national and international venues.

Director, Computer Graphics Technology

Served as the Director of the Purdue University Computer Graphics Technology program in Indianapolis, Indiana, and the Assistant Chair for the Department of Computer Information and Graphics Technology. In these roles, supervised faculty, staff, and students, and served in leadership positions on departmental, school, and university committees. Created, developed, and taught courses across the undergraduate and graduate curriculum, orchestrated national accreditation efforts, and led students on study abroad initiatives in Poland and Russia.

Assistant Professor, Media Arts and Science

Founding faculty member of the Media Arts and Science program in the Indiana University School of Informatics in Indianapolis, Indiana. Created new curriculum and taught at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Focused on connecting students with industry professionals by organizing symposia, panel discussions, film festivals, and in-class conversations.
